2018 FJD Pro Bono Publico Award

Partner Lisa Shapson won this year’s First Judicial District Pro Bono Publico Award for the Family Division, Domestic Relations. Judge Margaret Murphy announced the award, commending Lisa’s volunteer work on family law cases through the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (Philly VIP) and BKW for our history of pro bono service.

During the past 11 years, Lisa has not only represented clients in a variety of custody, divorce and support cases, but has also recruited and mentored other attorneys to take on pro bono family law matters. Lisa also serves on an advice-only panel for the overwhelming number of pro se litigants seeking domestic relations representation through Philly VIP. Her combined efforts to serve Philadelphians with family law issues led to this prestigious award. Congratulations Lisa!
