We have another Distinguished Child Advocate!

BKW Family Law Partner, Eileen Murphy, was honored by Philadelphia’s Support Center for Child Advocates (SCCA) as a 2023 Distinguished Advocate. She was introduced by SCCA Executive Director, Frank Cervone, at the annual benefit reception with the following praise:

Eileen has been a volunteer attorney since 2011 and has represented nine clients … Eileen has received wonderful reviews from our staff, with one noting that: ‘Eileen is a fantastic volunteer. She has a clear understanding of family importance in child welfare systems; she is very empathetic, and kind. She thinks outside the box and is a zealous advocate for reunification when appropriate. Her advocacy was integral to being able to reunify a client with her family!’ For your extraordinary professionalism and generous commitment, we honor you, Eileen Murphy, as a Distinguished Advocate.

Eileen began her career with BKW as an attorney in a one-year law clerk program in 2011, where she participated in formal training to be able to serve as a SCCA volunteer. She is not only dedicated to helping the SCCA “change the story,” but she also excels at giving the exact same attention to her pro bono clients as she does to paying clients. She has been recognized by both U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers®, and as a PA Super Lawyer®. Tonight, we are so proud of Eileen’s recognition as a distinguished child advocate, but not at all surprised!

______

We are also proud of our firm’s long-standing history of pro bono service in advocating on behalf of SCCA clients. The best interests of children and their families has always been a particular passion throughout our entire practice.  Frank Cervone’s speech began with: “Eileen is a partner at BKW Family Law. (I rolled that off my tongue!) We also love “B” “K” “W” – I’ll tell you about that later!”
