BKW Family Law LLC, formerly known as Berner Klaw & Watson LLP and Berner & Klaw, was founded in 1994 by Joni Berner and Margaret Klaw, as a successor practice to the Law Offices of Joni J. Berner (1987–1993). Megan Watson has been a partner since 2006 and Lisa Shapson became a partner in 2017. Our lawyers practice all aspects of family law, including prenuptial and postnuptial/marital settlement agreements, divorce, custody, support, protection from abuse, name changes, adoptions and LGBTQ relationship and dissolution agreements.
Our attorneys can also help unmarried cohabitants with partition matters. And, we take a limited number of personal injury cases arising out of family issues such as domestic violence or child sexual abuse.
Additionally, we offer divorce, mediation and arbitration services – four of our attorneys are trained mediators and Lisa Shapson is approved as a Parenting Coordinator in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties. BKW Family Law LLC practices in Philadelphia, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester and Bucks counties in Pennsylvania and in Gloucester, Camden and Burlington counties in New Jersey. Each of our attorneys is also trained in collaborative family law.
